NSN has won an order from Russia’s biggest mobile-phone carrier company MTS to build and deploy advanced fourth generation network technology (LTE) in Moscow.
According to this contract from MTS, Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) will have to construct the 4G advanced wireless system in the central Russia region surrounding the capital Moscow. This contract is worth $200 million and can be extended in the future.
Nokia Siemens will start construction this quarter on the long-term evolution technology network to permit speedier mobile online connections, MTS said today in a statement distributed at a Moscow press conference. The contract value is at least $200 million and may be extended, said Dmitry Solodovnikov, an MTS spokesman.
