Jolla reveals their first phone, to run on the Sailfish OS

Say hello to the first ever Jolla phone.

Jolla, a finnish startup who were working on MeeGo (a creation of Nokia and Intel) for their own mobile software, today revealed their first phone to run the homegrown Sailfish OS. The phone hasn’t been named yet i think but they are calling it “The Other Half”. It looks pretty much like the Nokia n9 from the front (round screen edges).

Here are the official specifications of the device:

  • Jolla original design with ample 4.5” Estrade display
  • Dual core and 4G**)
  • Keep it and share with 16GB + microSD
  • 8MP AF camera
  • User-replaceable battery
  • The Other Half
  • Gesture based Sailfish OS
  • Android™ app compliant

The phone is said to be priced at 399 euros. Jolla promises to ship the device by end of 2013.

This phone’s limited edition is up for pre-orders and Jolla is promising to give extra goodies with every pre-order.

  • pre-order of ltd ed. Jolla
  • exclusive Other Half
  • 100€ voucher
  • T-shirt
  • priority pre-order status
Here’s a message from Marc Dillon to developers, bloggers and fans for supporting and join Jolla.
