Nokia Siemens Networks to deploy 3G networks for AIS Thailand and LTE Network for TIM Brazil

In two big wins, Nokia Siemens Networks has been selected by TIM Brazil to upgrade its existing 3G and 2G networks which were installed by NSN itself, with a 2.6 Ghz band LTE network.

As part of the contract, NSN will deploy its award-winning Flexi Multiradio base station, which is a radio access network (RAN) used for 3G, FDD (Frequency Division Duplex)-LTE and TDD (Time Division Duplex)-LTE. This latest technology will allow the Brazilian operator to augment its site to 2.6 GHz, reducing expenditure on time, space and power consumption.

AIS of Thailand has also selected NSN for rolling out 3G services in 2100 Mhz band to keep up the pace with growing demand in the area.

3G will further boost its mobile broadband revenue. Nokia Siemens will deploy the 3G network using its Flexi Multiradio Base Station enabling AIS to achieve a fast rollout and manage rapidly increasing traffic growth by providing more coverage and capacity simultaneously. AIS will also be in a position to ensure a smooth migration to LTE / 4G.
