There’s a pretty interesting rumour floating in the blogosphere that Nokia might consider going along with Apple for dumping their current components supplier, Samsung.
Samsung have been supplying Apple with the important equipments and components which are used in Apple’s devices from quite a long time. But their relationship went sore when Samsung started copying and using Apple’s patented technology in their own products with very minor and ignorable differences. Apple, then, had to file patent infringement suite against their own equipments supplier, which they later won with a heafty amount penalty on Samsung. Samsung have also been supplying Nokia with the screens for their lumia devices, and as some report says that Samsung may have broken into the order of nokia’s bendable screens that were used in Nokia Kinetic which was presented in Nokia World 2011, and copied those orders to use in their products and show it in public. Samsung presented their ‘innovative’ phone with those bendable screens in recently held CES event.
This is a very interesting rumour, and can come out as a positive for Nokia. There’s no doubt whatsoever that Samsung had been copying their competition, using their hard work and money spendings in R&D. They have copied many things from Apple and Nokia.
The individual stated that Samsung has “a record of getting orders for next-gen components, then canceling the orders. And then they show up in a Samsung phone. When you see a Samsung ‘bendy’ OLED phone as you surely will, you are looking at something that was stolen from Nokia.”
